We have over 40 operas and 20 other oratorios that prove the genius of this legendary composer. In this concert we explore choral highlights from this vast canon. We guarantee you will leave this concert whistling new tunes, and with thrilling Handellian sounds ringing in your ears.
This is the opening concert of the Brisbane Chamber Choir's 2020 season with Brisbane Chamber Players conducted by Graeme Morton and the orchestra is lead by Alan Smith.

Special guest Katie Noonan joins the Brisbane Chamber Choir in our hopeful re-emergence of choral music. The program includes Ešenvalds Only in Sleep (with Katie Noonan) Victoria’s Missa Ave Regina for double choir, Bring us O Lord by William Harris, Lament by Joseph Twist (with Gwyn Roberts, cello), and music by Britten, Greene, Hassler, Lobo, Morton, Tavener and Sandstrom. Hosted by ABC presenter Ed Ayres. For hundreds of years choirs have sung songs of Christmas joy, creating a tradition that remains vibrant to this day. Join the Brisbane Chamber Choir and director Graeme Morton for a joyful musical celebration of hope, goodwill and Christmas cheer as we perform works spanning the ages. Composers including Peter Phillips, Francis Poulenc, Elizabeth Poston, Bob Chilcott and more. Two concerts as well as a live-streamed option.
